Sweet and Sour Drummettes

WARNING! This is not another bland, boring chicken recipe!

This recipe will give your taste buds such a trip! It is sweet, tangy, sticky, ooey, gooey, lip smackin’ deliciousness! Similar to sweet and sour sauces from Chinese restaurants but oh-so-much-better! This sauce can also be used for your favorite chicken or pork stir fry recipe for Chinese at home, as a dipping sauce for your favorite egg rolls, or on anything you can dream up!

Ingredients:

8 chicken drumettes

6 tablespoons soy sauce

6 tablespoons water

2 cups white sugar

1 cup vinegar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a mixing bowl combine soy sauce, water, sugar and vinegar. Pour over chicken.

Bake in preheated oven for 30 mintes, or until cooked through and juices run clear.

To thicken the sauce for a perfectly sticky glaze:

When the chicken has finished cooking, pour the sauce and juices into a sauce pan. Take a cup of the juices and pour into a bowl with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, stirring until cornstarch is dissolved completely. Then dump sauce/cornstarch mixture into back into the saucepan with the rest of the juice. Cook over medium high heat, stirring frequently until the glaze has reduced and thickened! Finger-licking good, I promise!

Try serving with steamed white rice, and steamed broccoli.

So easy, so delicious! Go make this, make it right now!
